Weaving the Invisible Arteries
In this large-scale paper-cutting series, the rigid logic of urban road networks dissolves into the organic vitality of traditional folk patterns. Spanning up to two meters, these vertical scrolls act as “invisible arteries,” pulsing with the colors of different emotional landscapes. By merging the structural lines of maps with the rhythmic motifs of indigenous heritage, the work reclaims the road not as a tool of border control, but as a path of cultural continuity.
Each piece represents a layered negotiation between the land we occupy and the stories we carry. The negative space created by the cuts symbolizes the gaps in official history—hollowed out yet structurally essential—reminding us that the most resilient territories are those woven from memory, movement, and the persistent rhythm of everyday life.
